Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BASEERA (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Purpose and Intended Use

BASEERA is a professional outbreak intelligence platform intended for use by health workers, epidemiologists, and public-health organizations responding to disease outbreaks. The Service is designed for use in low-resource humanitarian settings.

BASEERA is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for clinical judgment. It is an information management platform to support outbreak response coordination.

3. Account Registration

To use most features of the Service, you must register an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Admins are responsible for the users they invite to their organization and for enforcing appropriate data handling practices within their organization.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any law
  • Enter fabricated or knowingly false outbreak data
  • Share access credentials with unauthorized individuals
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data beyond normal use
  • Upload data you are not authorized to process under applicable privacy and health laws
  • Interfere with the security or availability of the Service

5. Data Responsibility

Organizations using BASEERA are data controllers for the information they enter into the Service. BASEERA acts as a data processor. Organizations are responsible for:

  • Obtaining appropriate consent from patients and contacts
  • Complying with national health privacy regulations
  • Following humanitarian data protection principles
  • Training their users on appropriate data handling

6. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BASEERA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, loss of profits, or decisions made based on information in the Service.

You acknowledge that outbreak response involves high-stakes decisions that should be based on multiple sources of information, professional judgment, and established public-health protocols — not solely on data displayed in any software platform.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to other users. Upon termination, your access to the Service ends, and your data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

BASEERA (software, design, trademarks) is owned by BASEERA Health. You retain ownership of the data you enter into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data as needed to operate the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email and by posting the updated Terms on this page. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance.
